The latest rumor indicates that Apple will be launching the iPad 3 in the first week of March. The event is said to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The next generation iPad model is also expected to be available a week or so after its launch.
Apple is streaming a Paul McCartney concert live via iTunes. But more interestingly, the event will be the first live content available for streaming to AppleTV users indicating that Apple might be getting serious about tackling broadcast.

BGR got some images that provide new details about Apple's third generation of the iPad. The images suggest that Apple will put a quad-core CPU inside the iPad 3 and will release two versions of it.

App makers Moonbot Studios have been nominated in the Best Animated Short category of the Oscars. While their story, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, was released through conventional distribution channels, it is also available as an application for the iPad.
