Built from top-of-the-line materials (including DuPont Kevlar Fiber and a splash-guard coating), these smartphones are small in size but big on battery life. They run on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform (upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean).
Nokia's recent launch of two new Lumia smartphones which run on the Windows Phone 8 platform, were greeted by a dip in share prices during and after the announcement.
Samsung has sold over 20 million units of the Galaxy S III to date, just 100 days after its launch in May.
Nokia's promotional video for its PureView technology on the Lumia 920 was found to be counterfeit. The company issued an apology to explain the slip up and posted the real footage shot from a Lumia 920.

Microsoft has released the official SkyDrive app for Android devices.
Motorola and Intel are sending out invites for an event on 18 September in London. It is highly likely that they will be launching an Android smartphone driven by the Medfield processor.

A new report from Daring Fireball's John Gruber has alleged that Apple will only announce its small tablet option during the first or second week of October and not together with its iPhone 5 on the 12th of Sept as earlier speculated.

At least three Nexus devices are reported to be launched later this year from LG, Samsung and Sony. The three devices are the Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Optimus Nexus and Sony Xperia Nexus.
