Google Debuts Online Music Service
Google launches an invitation-only version of its online music service. Still in its beta phase, users get to store digital versions of songs they own in an online "locker" which they can access via Internet-enabled devices.

Amazon Launches Cloud Music Player
Amazon gets a head start on its rivals by launching its cloud based music player, offering 5 Gb of free storage to users, in the United States. The Cloud Player is currently only accessible to browsers and devices running Android.
