Renowned futurist, social scientist and inventor Ray Kurzweil is hired as Google's Director of Engineering. Google has not officially confirmed Kurzweil's appointment but the inventor made an announcement of this recent development on his own blog.
On 30 January 2013, Google will be dropping consumer support for Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync protocol for new devices. Chalk up another casualty of the mobile wars.
