At CES 2013, Tactus Technology demonstrated a tablet whose touchscreen can morph into real physical buttons that rise up out of the surface on demand, and then recede back into the screen, leaving a perfectly flat, transparent surface when gone.
Samsung has posted a photo on its Flickr page showing that its Galaxy S lineup of smartphones has sold over 100 million units since May 2010.

ST-Ericsson (STE) has unveiled its latest quad-core processor, the NovaThor L8580. It can be clocked up to 2.5GHz and consumes 50% less power than its competitors.
Huawei will be introducing an ultra slim P series smartphone at the MWC 2013, as well as an eight-core chip in the second half of 2013.

Future notebooks with Intel's 4th generation processor codenamed "Haswell", must feature touchscreens in order to qualify for the "Ultrabook" trademark.

Alcatel has announced the world's thinnest smartphone at CES 2013. Known as the One Touch Idol Ultra, the device measures a mere 6.45mm thin despite packing quite an impressive suite of hardware and software features.
ZTE officially announces the Grand S smartphone, which is currently the world's thinnest 5-inch FHD smartphone at a mere 6.9mm.
