Whatsapp Coming to Windows Phone 7 Mango

Whatsapp Coming to Windows Phone 7 Mango

Whatsapp, the popular cross-platform instant message service for smartphones, has been available for Apple iOS, Google Android, and BlackBerry for quite some time. Earlier today, a tweet related to mangoes was sent out by Whatsapp, making a very obvious hint of what's to come for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Mango update.

While Microsoft's Corporate Vice President and Director of Windows Phone Program Management, Joe Belfiore, has also retweeted the Whatsapp mention, quoted as saying "This made me smile", the irrefutable proof of Whatsapp's appearance on Windows Phone 7.5 came from its teaser image on Whatsapps' website within the media section.

Windows Phone 7 is a relatively late entry to a market that's dominated by Apple and Google, but with the Mango update and Microsoft's aggressive approach in wooing developers onto its mobile platform, consumers can expect a three-way fight between these three mobile OS.

Though we do have one request for Microsoft: please, enable wireless tethering for Windows Phone.
