ViewSonic to Join MWC 2012 Party with New Tablets

ViewSonic announced its participation in MWC 2012 and the company will showcase its latest tablet models, some of which had already made an appearance at CES in January.

ViewPad G70

An Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) tablet, the ViewPad G70 comes with a 7-inch display that features 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Being an expert in the monitor business, ViewSonic is specific regarding the specs of G70’s display: 8-bit color depth, 250 nits brightness, and 500:1 contrast ratio.

Exact details about the G70’s CPU are unknown, but memory-wise, the tablet touts 1GB RAM. ViewSonic has packed it with 4GB storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. G70’s options for wireless connectivity include 3G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Meanwhile, its physical interfaces include a mini HDMI, micro USB, and a mini USB for external USB devices.

ViewSonic plans to launch the G70 in Europe sometime in Q2 for US$ 399.

ViewPad E70

Another 7-inch tablet, the E70 also runs Ice Cream Sandwich. The E70’s platform integrates a 1GHz CPU, 4GB storage, front-facing camera, microSD slot, and a Wi-Fi chip.

A key feature of the E70 is ViewScene 3D which, according to ViewSonic, allows for easy accessibility and navigation. ViewScene 3D has 16 customizable panels that can easily be managed. However, do remember that ViewScene 3D is not exclusive to the E70.

ViewPad E100

Flaunting a larger 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display, the ViewPad E100 comes with a higher screen resolution rated at 1024 x 768. The E100 is powered by a 1GHz Cortex CPU, weighs 620g, and measures 9.1mm thin. Other than these specifications, the E100 is similar to the E70 and the G70 in terms of connectivity.

ViewPad 10e

The ViewPad 10e is very similar to the E100, except that it still runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). ViewSonic puts emphasis on the 10e’s lengthy battery life of 200 hours in standby mode. Although the 10e is offered with Gingerbread, it is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich.

ViewPad P100

Positioned as a tablet for mobile professionals, the 10-inch ViewPad P100 stands out among ViewSonic’s latest tablet line because of three things. First, it is the only tablet in the pack that runs Windows 7 Professional. Second, it is powered by a Cedar Trail chip from Intel, a dual-core Atom N2600 clocked at 1.6GHz. And lastly, it has the largest display in ViewSonic’s lineup, espousing a 10-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution.
