Twitter Buys TweetDeck

It's now official: Twitter has acquired popular client TweetDeck.

Iain Dodsworth, Founder and CEO of TweetDeck said the following in the company's blog post earlier today:

I am extremely happy and proud to let you know that TweetDeck has been acquired by Twitter. We completed the deal on Tuesday and are now in the process of "joining the flock".

According to this article from AllThingsD, Twitter has paid between US$40 and US$50 million in cash and stock for TweetDeck.
