Sony Expands its Range of Cameras

Sony is expanding its range of interchangeable lens cameras today with the new Alpha SLT-A77. The new A-mount model appeals to advanced amateurs and serious photo enthusiasts and is also the fastest 12fps burst shooting for interchangeable lens camera with APS-C size sensor not only in its class, but in the world. The A77 is built to be rugged, with system-wide dust and moisture resistance and a robust magnesium body that can endure long hours spent shooting a range of environments. And, with 150,000-shot shutter release durability, the A77 is guaranteed to provide years of use.

Sony also introduces another A-mount Alpha SLT camera, two E-mount Alpha NEX cameras and a Handycam:

Sony Alpha SLT-A65

This new A-mount model brings advanced features to beginning photographers. The A65 includes an advanced version of the award-winning Translucent Mirror Technology with a 15-point AF 3 cross-sensor system and full-time continuous AF, delivering fast shooting at up to 10fps. Users can also film in both interlace and progressive including cinematic mode - 24p, 60i and 60p (NTSC), or 25p, 50i, and 50p (PAL) – a feature seldom found even in professional-grade interchangeable lens cameras.

Sony Alpha NEX-5N

The new NEX-5N draws on the positive acceptance of the NEX-5 and offers superb responsiveness, image quality and creativity of a DSLR camera – all in a compact body. Styled in tough, light magnesium alloy and just 23.3mm at its slimmest point, the NEX-5N is a step forward from its predecessor in terms of still image and HD video quality, powerful creative features and intuitive interface.

Sony Alpha NEX-7

The NEX-7 is styled in magnesium alloy for superior strength and premium looks, and weighs in at a travel-friendly approximately 291g (camera body only). The NEX-7 features a newly-developed Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with 24.3 effective megapixel resolution that is teamed with the latest revision of Sony’s BIONZ image processing engine.

Sony Handycam NEX-VG20E

The new Handycam NEX-VG20E camcorder from Sony broadens creative possibilities for shooting cinematic Full HD video and high-resolution still photos. Offering comprehensive manual controls, the NEX-VG20E lets videographers explore the artistic potential of the growing range of E-Mount lenses. With refined ergonomics, improved imaging quality and upgraded sound, it provides several enhancements over the acclaimed NEX-VG10E – the world’s first consumer HD camcorder with interchangeable lenses.
