Samsung Rumored to Launch New Phone with 1.4GHz Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S II, which just made its appearance on retail shelves over the weekend, enjoyed tremendous sales success, with stocks depleted and new ones incoming over the next few days. While everyone is clamoring to own the latest Android smartphone powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, word has it that the Korean company is planning to launch another device to rival Apple's rumored iPhone 5 launch in September. This includes a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, with a 1GB RAM and the latest Android Gingerbread iteration. - Popherald claims that sources located in Asia have confirmed that Samsung will have a new Android-powered phone - launched in August or September - that will be pitted against the iPhone 5, one that apparently won't carry the Galaxy branding and which will come with better specs. Expect a 1.4GHz dual core Samsung Exynos SoC (up from 1.2GHz), 1GB RAM and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface.

Question is, should you get the Samsung Galaxy S II when the stocks are replenished, or hold out and see if the rumor proves true as September draws closer? Either way, that's a lot of dual-core smartphones coming right up, and we won't be surprised if we see quad-core devices popping up in the near future.
