RIM Rumored to Launch BlackBerry Music Service Soon
Research In Motion (RIM) is rumored to be launching the BlackBerry Music Service soon as it is currently finalizing negotiations with four major U.S record label companies.
According to SlashGear, the BlackBerry music streaming service is integrated with BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). You will have to pay $5 per month after the free trial ends. The BlackBerry Music Service will be available as a standalone app which you can download from the BlackBerry App World. However, you can only install up to 50 songs.
We have seen RIM announced a series of new services and revamps to the BlackBerry platform such as the new BBM 6 and the partnership with 7digital to launch a music store for PlayBook users. It seems like RIM is trying to make the BlackBerry devices more relevant to the mainstream consumer market in order to survive in the highly competitive smartphone and tablet markets.
