NVIDIA Trademarks New Stage Name 4-PLUS-1
NVIDIA has changed its variable symmetric multiprocessing (vSMP), which describe the Tegra 3's unique capabilities when it was released in 2011, to the new 4-PLUS-1 quad core architecture.
It was explained that with the technology becoming more popular, customers had wanted a name that is unique and accurately describes the immediate value of this product. This revolutionary architecture provides users with an exceptional processing power and great battery life. It does this by using the four CPU cores to handle complex tasks such as gaming while a fifth low-power, battery-saver core that manages less strenuous tasks – like processing e-mail or operating in standby mode.
