Non Latin Top Level Domains Now Available
Those of us who have been used to English as the main language on the web, get ready for web addresses that are in non-Latin languages. Net regulator ICANN has allowed for the first time, web addresses that do not contain any Latin characters, so web addresses can now be completely in Arabic or Chinese, for example. This will definitely see a broader, more diverse internet, increasing the access for users who do not use a Latin based language.
BBC News - Net regulator Icann has switched on a system that allows full web addresses that contain no Latin characters. Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are the first countries to have so-called "country codes" written in Arabic scripts.
