iPad Narrowing Kindle's Lead as Ebook Reader
Despite its higher price, it seems that many readers of ebooks prefer the versatility of the Apple iPad as an ebook reading device compared to a dedicated one like the Amazon Kindle. At least that appears to be the result of a recent survey in the U.S.
Ars Technica - In a recent ChangeWave survey about consumer e-book reader ownership, iPad ownership doubled between August and November, up from 16 to 32 percent. The percentage of e-book reader owners that own a Kindle dropped 15 points, down to 47 percent. With just 5 percent owning and Sony device and 4 percent reporting owning a Nook, it's clear that Amazon and Apple are fighting for the majority of e-reader users.
