Ethereal HP Spectre to be Covered in Gorilla Glass

It seems like with certain companies monopolizing aluminum, other manufacturers have to turn to other means to build their Ultrabooks. Besides magnesium alloy or carbon fiber, it seems that the industry has found some other material that they can use to build their notebooks with.

The HP Envy 14 Spectre is a 14-inch notebook that's covered in scratch-resistant Gorilla-Glass. The lid will be covered in glass, as well as the palmrest, which interestingly, looks like a single piece of glass, and won't feature buttons.

Thanks to Mashable, we also have some details regarding its specs. The HP Envy 14 Spectre will feature solid-state-drives, but as far as we know, it's slightly heavier and almost thicker (1.7kg and 20mm thick) than what Ultrabook rules state.

It will also sport a high-resolution 1600 by 900 pixel screen, Beats Audio, near-field communication (NFC) and a proximity sensor. As of now, there aren't any details regarding the processor type, but hopefully it will feature an Ivy-Bridge processor. According to Mashable, the machine will be going for US$1400 when it ships in February.
