Android Ice Cream Sandwich to Arrive in Oct or Nov

The wait for the next version of the Android operating system (codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich) will be over soon as Google's CEO Eric Schmidt announced that it will be arriving in October or November.

According to ThisIsMyNext, Eric revealed the time frame during an interview with Salesforce.com's CEO Marc Benioff. It is also noteworthy to mention that Google's mobile chief and creator of the Android platform, Andy Rubin will be attending the AsiaD Conference, which is held from 19 October to 21 October. There is a high possibility that he might unveil it during the conference as the timing seems perfect.

Eric Schmidt: "We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about."

The release of Ice Cream Sandwich is highly anticipated as Google announced its plan to unify the Android platform to "run everywhere" to address the platform fragmentation issue. There are rumors circulating around regarding the new operating system including the leaked screenshots of the user interface and Samsung being the manufacturer of the next Google's flagship Nexus device. Well, we will find out soon in a month or so.
