Android 3.2 Update for HTC Flyer Leaked with Screenshots

Users of HTC Flyer can look forward to getting the Android 3.2 update for their tablets very soon after a beta version is leaked online together with screenshots of the new interface.

According to SlashGear, the new interface retains the familiar HTC Sense clock widget, Home and Multitasking button. Changes to the interface include a modified clock, notifications and battery icons on the right side of the task bar.

Paul O'Brien from MoDaCo, who got hold of the beta version and released it for public download, offered his take on the user interface after trying it. He felt that the interface is smooth and the pen interaction works everywhere on the Flyer now, including for typing and buttons. However, he also noted that the touch-sensitive buttons on the bezel are gone except for the pen action button, and the Flyer is now optimized for landscape orientation.

It is good to see the HTC Flyer finally getting the Honeycomb upgrade. After all, most Android tablets released this year are powered by the tablet optimized Honeycomb platform (version 3.X) and the HTC Flyer is certainly the odd-ball running on Android 2.3. We are excited to see how the final version will run on the HTC Flyer.
