Android 2.3 Details Revealed, Google Nexus S Unveiled

Google finally releases details of the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) platform for smartphones and there's plenty to like and love. The upgraded OS has more support for games, including physical buttons. This ties in nicely with the rumors of the PlayStation Phone, though Gingerbread has plenty of other stuff up its proverbial sleeve. Like what you may ask? How about support for a front facing camera so you can do video chats, better copy and paste, Near Field Communication support and so much more?

Also, Google will be launching a new phone made by Samsung, a new Google Nexus S that will be the first phone to ship with Gingerbread. There's no word whether it will be available for Singaporean buyers like the previous Nexus One, but we will be checking in with Google and updating you once we get the information. - Today we're announcing a new version of the Android platform — Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
