Acting President for HTC America: iPhones Not That Cool Anymore

Martin Fichter, the acting president of HTC America conducted a focus group at his daughter's college (Reed College) and said that Apple iPhones are not that cool anymore.

According to 9to5Mac, Fichter spoke to a few pupils at the college and noticed that none of them had an iPhone. Feeling curious, he asked them and their responses were that their fathers own an iPhone.

9to5Mac - "There’s an interesting thing that’s going on in the market. The iPhone becomes a little less cool than it was. They were carrying HTCs. They were carrying Samsungs. They were even carrying some Chinese manufacture’s devices. If you look at a college campus, Mac Book Airs are cool. iPhones are not that cool anymore. We here are using iPhones, but our kids don’t find them that cool anymore.”

Android smartphones such as the HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II are getting popular among consumers these days as they have bigger screens and more features. With the new iPhone 5 arriving soon, it may help Apple gain back its "cool" factor.
