5.5-inch LG Optimus G2 to be Revealed at CES?
The LG flagship 5.5-inch 1080p flagship "phablet" was rumored to be shown at Mobile World Congress and that it would start shipping during the same month. Like HTC's M7, the mobile device has now been rumored to be unveiled during CES next week. This however corresponds with the fact that the Korean company would be exhibiting a full-HD 5.5-inch smartphone display with a pixel density of 403ppi at the annual trade show itself.
DigiTimes, the source of the rumor, also mentioned that the device would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Prime MSM8974 processor and will go by the moniker of Optimus G2. If this rumor is to be true, LG will not be the only one showing off phablet-sized devices - Huawei will be showing off both 5-inch Ascend D2 and 6.1-inch Ascend Mate; Sony will also be showing off its 5-inch Xperia Z and ZL devices on the 7th; ZTE will be brandishing its 5-inch Grand S device.
While there aren't concrete rumors of Samsung showing off a device at the show itself, the company is said to be showcasing a 5.5-inch flexible display with 720p resolution and 267ppi and a 4.99-inch 1080p screen with 440ppi, which points to the possibility of the next-gen device embracing either technology.
