One Charger to Rule

One Charger to Rule

How many of us have many gadgets and hence, many different chargers? We believe most of us do. While this is not an issue when you are at home, lugging heavy gadgets along with their respective chargers can get quite demanding especially if you are traveling.

Not to mention, chargers have been misplaced or left behind amidst the confusion of the whole packing frenzy. This is the reason for the Innergie mCube90 - it's a universal charging adapter targeted at frequent travelers.

Mac-like Body

The mCube90 comes in a black soft rectangular pouch with the necessary cables and notebook tips (placed in a small velvet pouch). Touted by its manufacturers to be the "world’s smallest" power adapter, the mCube90 lives up to its name. It's small, lightweight and can easily fit into your satchel or luggage bag. However, the bigger selling point here would be its classy and sturdy "Mac"-like exterior, reminiscent of the glossy white clamshell texture of the iBooks of yester-years.

The whole package feels as light as a single standard charger and that definitely beats the option of lugging several around.

Performance

As we mentioned earlier, the mCube90 is a multi-purpose universal adapter that charges most of the popular brands of notebooks ranging between 18 to 21 volts, and 65 watt consumption. The list itself is pretty impressive and covers most of the major laptop brands - Acer, Asus, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Sony, Toshiba, except for Apple.

That's a pity really, given that its aesthetics would have been perfectly in tune with the former. It also comes with an USB power port, essentially providing charging capability for USB-driven gadgets, such as iPods, mobile phones, portable gaming consoles, and even certain cameras.

It also comes with a detachable Auto/Air adapter that allows charging on cars and airplanes and can be easily removed from the bottom, ensuring that power shortage will not be a problem especially on long-drawn and monotonous flights.

Conclusion

The mCube90, as niche as it seems, can be extremely essential to those where it is necessary to bring multiple gadgets on-the-go e.g., journalists, businessmen, or photographers. It simplifies things greatly to have only one charger for every gadget.

However, be prepared to fork out a premium for it, considering that there are cheaper alternatives around. Nevertheless, it is a good product to invest in, especially if you are a frequent flyer or a careless packer.
