We are almost nearing the results segment! The test system used to assess the ASUS EN7900GT was kept identical to earlier graphics cards tested to save time. This is our trusty ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard with an Athlon 64 3500+ CPU and 1GB of Corsair DDR400 memory running in dual channel mode. For comparisons, we have a couple of graphics cards, so here's the list with their respective driver versions used:-

  • ASUS EN7900GT 256MB (ForceWare 83.91)
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB (Forceware 81.95)
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB (Forceware 81.95)
  • ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB (Catalyst 5.13)

We didn't bring out the ATI Radeon X1800 XL 256MB into this comparison due to time constraints. However, if you have read our review of the MSI Radeon X1800 XL graphics card, you would be well aware that this class of cards perform just as well as the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT or slightly better. Hence, the GeForce 7800 GT would serve us a good comparison point. Here then are the benchmarks we used to gather the performance results presented in the following pages:-

  • Futuremark 3DMark05 Pro (version 120)
  • Futuremark 3DMark06 Pro (version 102)
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory (version 1.3)
  • Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (version 1.1)
  • Quake 4
