<p>Despite its launch more than a month ago, stocks of the GeForce 7900 GT are relatively tight in some places, with smaller markets feeling the pinch of being allocated less importance and hence getting low priority for product replenishment. While NVIDIA has maintained that it has no production or yield issues and suggests that its best-selling status is responsible for the perceived shortage, the situation has unfortunately resulted in higher prices contrary to the typical pattern of gradual price declines and retailer discounts. A cursory glance at a large online retailer showed that while it claimed to have stocks for many models, prices were generally stable at its initial launch level of US$299 with quite a number of seemingly ordinary models were selling at more than US$300.</p>
<p>With an above average value proposition which offers excellent performance that outclasses the former NVIDIA king of the hill &ndash; GeForce 7800 GTX, it's no wonder that people are flocking to get one. For the interested buyer, there are quite a few choices from the many vendors, ranging from the vanilla version to the overclocked ones to the feature packed variants with added VIVO capabilities. XFX is one such vendor to offer a stunning range of GeForce 7900 GT products. One of the remaining few vendors that exclusively produces graphics cards from one source (in its case, NVIDIA) instead of from both major chipset makers, XFX has focused on the gaming enthusiast with its lineup of overclocked cards. And the company certainly can fulfill everyone's needs. For instance, there are up to eight different XFX models for the GeForce 7900 GT alone, varying in clock speeds from the standard 450MHz to the XXX Edition's 560MHz and with or without VIVO capabilities.
