Zynga Buys Draw Something Developer OMGPOP for $200 million

Draw Something is one of the hottest social networking games at the moment, having attracted some 35 million downloads over the past six or so weeks. It has also catapulted its developer, OMGPOP, to stardom. OMGPOP's meteoric rise to the top has also attracted the attention of Zynga, arguably the largest social network gaming developer. This has led Zynga to acquire OMGPOP at a princely sum of $200 million.
Considering the controversies surrounding Zynga, some users were understandably not too pleased about this move. However, Dan Porter, CEO of OMGPOP, assures fans that the acquisition will not change the game and they would instead work hard on making it more focused and keeping it fun.
