Samsung to Showcase 4.99-inch 1080p, 441PPI Super AMOLED Display at CES

With rumors of Sony Mobile devices, both Odin and Yuma, making a show at CES 2013, it is no surprise that Samsung might be making a run for the limelight as well. Yes, that's right - possibly as part of the company's expansion into "phablets", Samsung has been alleged to showcase a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density at the annual consumer electronics trade show.
GSMArena - "The first phones to use a 5" 1080p display are already available in some markets, but they rely on LCDs. The new display from Samsung is, of course, rumored to be used in the Galaxy S IV. What the gossip doesn't say is whether the display will use a PenTile or an RGB matrix."
These screens are said to go in production in Q1 of 2013, with a purported Q2 launch for the device/s. It does seem like most major manufacturers are veering into the barely marked 5.0-inch and above territory - HTC has kickstarted the movement with its HTC Butterfly/Deluxe device - in 2013, and we are excited to see how things will pan out.
