Samsung Outs Gaming Centric Galaxy S WiFi 4.2

Samsung’s latest addition to its line of Android-based multimedia handheld devices is the new Galaxy S WiFi 4.2. Smaller than the Froyo-based Galaxy S WiFi 5.0, the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 sports a 4.2-inch IPS TFT display with 480 x 800 resolution. Samsung has also watered down the WiFi 4.2’s main camera by equipping it with a 2-megapixel sensor (the WiFi 5.0 has 3.2MP). In front, the WiFi 4.2 has a VGA camera.
A gaming-centric handheld device, the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 packs a 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, and is preloaded with EA’s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. The WiFi 4.2 will be offered with either 8GB or 16GB storage which can be expanded via microSD. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and USB 2.0. Like the projector-touting Galaxy Beam, the WiFi 4.2 runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
