Nokia Lumia 710 Available Soon, Priced at S$505

Right on the heels of the Nokia Lumia 800 announcement, Nokia has also stated that its second Windows Phone device, the Nokia Lumia 710, will be available in the coming weeks, priced at S$505.
While the Lumia 800 is modeled after Nokia's MeeGo-based N9, the Lumia 710 takes on a totally different design concept. Instead of a unibody design with a fixed cyan, magenta or black color on the Lumia 800, the Lumia 710 comes with interchangeable covers with different colors to choose from. It is available in black and white with black, white, cyan, fuchsia and yellow back covers.
Instead of an AMOLED display, the Lumia 710 opts for a modest TFT touchscreen, though it retains the same WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution as seen on the Lumia 800. With an 8GB internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera (do note that it is not equipped with the same Carl Zeiss optics found on the Lumia 800), you can see how the Lumia 710's less powerful hardware is balanced out by its lower price.
Against HTC's recently announced HTC Radar, which comes with a single-core 1GHz processor and priced at S$569, you might find yourself drawn towards the Lumia 710 for its lower price point. However, the Samsung Omnia W does come off with a stronger proposition, with its AMOLED display alongside a slightly cheaper price at S$498.
Similarly, Nokia's free turn-by-turn navigation app, Nokia Drive, will be preloaded onto the Lumia 710. Mix Radio, a streaming service within Nokia Music, is currently unavailable in our region. Nokia did mention that the service will be available within the first half of 2012, subjected to its agreement with record labels across the various regions within Asia Pacific.
