New Technology from DTS Offers Up to 11.1 Home Theater Surround Sound Experience from Headphones
While headphones are excellent for private listening, the design of the product means that it is difficult to deliver surround sound. DTS have decided to lend a helping hand to headphone manufacturers with the introduction of Headphone:X technology.
Headphone:X aims to externalize the sound produced by headphones so that listeners perceive the sound to be emitted by speakers placed at a distance. It is expected that content producers will utilize the new technology to provide better audio for consumers. The features of Headphone:X are as follows.
- Home Theater in your Pocket (HTiP) with surround sound for headphones (up to 11.1 channels)
