Microsoft to Release Windows 8 Release Preview in June
Microsoft has announced it will release a 'Release Preview' version of Windows 8 in the first week of June. The president of Microsoft's Windows unit, Mr. Steven Sinofsky made this announcement at a Windows Developer Days event in Japan yesterday.
The Redmond software giant has already released a ‘Developer Preview’ and a ‘Consumer Preview’ to the general public, giving members of the public a chance to test drive the operating system as Microsoft irons out the details. According to FoxNews.com, this 'Release Preview' will also allow hardware vendors a chance to run something that is a lot closer to final code.
With the impending approach of the end of support for Windows XP, there will be a sizeable user base looking for an upgrade. Whether these people will upgrade to Windows 7 or wait for Windows 8 remains to be seen. As a matter of fact, Microsoft announced that its latest operating system will come in four flavors, and for regular consumers, there is really only one version to choose from.
