LG Optimus Vu with 5-inch Touchscreen Teased in Korea

The rat race to make phones with bigger touch screens is ongoing, especially with LG's latest announcement, the LG Optimus Vu. The Android smartphone is said to come with a 5-inch IPS panel, one that is smaller than the Samsung Galaxy Note which boasts of a 5.3-inch touch screen. Details are still hazy about the phone, but it is said to come with:
- 1024 x 768 resolution display
- 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- 1GB of RAM / 8GB internal memory
- 8-megapixel camera
- NFC connectivity
- Android 2.3 OS
With more phones spotting bigger screens, we might see other manufacturers come up with phones that sport larger displays than the definitive 4.3-inch size. With regards to the operating system, there's no concrete news so as to whether the LG phone will get the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment. Nonetheless, we must add that at this stage, Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich should have been available out-of-the-box, or at least be pushed onto the Optimus Vu shortly after its launch.
At this point in time, there are no specific details on the LG Optimus Vu's availability yet; LG might keep the device restricted to the Korean market.
