HTC HD2 Not Eligible for Windows Phone 7 Upgrade
Yes, that's right. The HTC HD2 won't be slated for a Windows Phone 7 upgrade. Though the high-powered device has most of the basic features of the Chassis 1 category for Windows Phone 7 Series, it seems like the 1GHz Snapdragon-powered HD2 has too many hardware buttons for Microsoft's liking.
GSM Arena - Bad news for the HTC HD2 owners: your beloved WinMo smartphones does not qualify for a Windows Phone 7 upgrade. The reason is more than ridiculous but you can't do anything to change the situation: the HD2 packs five hardware buttons instead of only 3.
Looking on the bright side, Microsoft isn't exactly ditching Windows Mobile, with continual support for the mobile OS under the Windows Phone Classic brand. And of course, that means you'll still get the good old HTC Sense UI on the HD2, maybe even an updated version. For the full story, click here.
