HP Slate Specs Leaked, Compared to iPad
A little competition analysis is always in order, and as it turns out, the folks at Engadget have picked up on a HP internal memo that depicts the advantages and disadvantages of its upcoming HP Slate against the iPad. The specs might have been out there, but it's the pricing that piqued our interest, at either US$549 or US$599 for the 32GB and 64GB versions.
Engadget - As we'd heard, the Slate will run $549 in its base configuration, which has a 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive multitouch display, a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor with UMA graphics and an accelerator for 1080p video playback (we're assuming it's a Broadcom Crystal HD chip), 32GB of flash storage and 1GB of non-upgradeable RAM.
HP is definitely harping on some of its strengths, such as HDMI-out, SD expandability and its 1.6GHz Intel Menlow Z530 processor. Still, keep an open mind and take this with a pinch of salt, even though April's Fool has passed by. You can check out the full comparison specs over here.
