Google Glasses to be Integrated with Bonephone Technology?

The papers for Google Glass have been filed with the FCC, which gives us hope that the HUD will perhaps meet the timeline set by Google co-founder Sergey Brin and be available to developers early this year. The filing also allows us to have a closer look at the innards of the device.

Most likely the Explorer edition of the Google Glass will come with 802.11 b/g 2.4 GHz WLAN and low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 radio. But the most interesting aspect is the single mention of a "vibrating" element for transmitting sound to the user via bone conduction.

At CES 2013 we saw Panasonic unveiling a pair of headphones which seek to bring the exact same bone conduction technology to the masses. If Google's choice of direction is also taken into account, it looks like "bonephones" might finally be arriving on to the playing field sometime in the course of this year.
