Discover, Create & Share Microsoft Office Documents With Facebook Friends
Microsoft and Facebook have launched Docs, a new service from Microsoft’s Future Social Experiences (FUSE) Labs that allows Facebook users to discover, create and share Microsoft Office documents for the first time. Built using Microsoft Office 2010 – Docs for Facebook lets you work from just about anywhere with the familiar Office experience.
Docs is built to provide the best possible document sharing service through a seamless integration within the Facebook environment. The application’s design specifically focuses on allowing users to share documents with others. Facebook users can now upload or start a new document online, have their friends edit or incorporate feedback and then share it with everyone.
Docs utilizes Microsoft Office 2010 “Web Apps” (Word, PPT, Excel). Web Apps allows for viewing and editing directly within a web browser, or editing in a more rich experience through the Microsoft Office software on your PC or Mac. The service utilizes Facebook Connect for authentication and sharing. It also uses a new test feature from Facebook for an immediate personalized experience and seamless access to documents on Docs.com.
You can sign up for Docs beta at www.docs.com
