Apple Confirms iPad's Wi-Fi Issues
For all its hype, the iPad is still far from being an immaculate gizmo at its launch phase. Apparently, a bunch of iPad wielders have begun ranting about Wi-Fi issues with the Cupertino tablet, for some have failed to re-establish a network connection after waking their new found iPad from slumber. More importantly, Apple has addressed their complaints.
Yahoo Finance - Apple admits some iPad users may have trouble staying connected to the internet, confirming reports from customers who purchased the new devices over the weekend. The first generation of iPads accesses the internet using Wi-Fi networks. "Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep," says a statement on the Apple (NASDAQ: aapl) support page. The company says this can happen with "some third party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable", and when both of those networks share the same network name, or when each band has a different security setting.
