Android 5.0 Jelly Bean Rumored to Launch in Q2 2012

Although Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has spent barely four months in the market, Google is rumored to be launching its successor, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean in Q2 2012.
According to DigiTimes, Taiwan-based supply chain makers claimed that Google will integrate Chrome OS functionality and further optimize Android 5.0 for larger screen devices such as notebooks and tablets.
The sources added that Google is pushing device makers to adopt Android 5.0 and Windows 8 so as to offer the best of both platforms. Moreover, dual-booting devices that run on Android 5.0 and Windows 8 are able to switch between the two platforms without the need for a reboot.
With Android 4.0 only running on 1% of all active Android devices and Google's intention to slow down the updating schedule to minimize platform fragmentation, it is highly unlikely that consumers will be seeing Android 5.0-powered devices in Q2.
