Adobe Rolls Out Edge Animate
Adobe Rolls Out Edge Animate
Adobe may have given up on Flash for mobile devices. But true to their word, they have redirected their energies towards the development of HTML5 for web experiences on both smartphones and tablets. They have released Edge Animate, which is a suite of tool using HTML5, to help developers with the creation of interactive content and animation.
Edge Animate will make lives easier for mobile developers as it will offer simultaneous cross-mobile-device previewing and debugging. At the same time, Adobe has Edge Reflow in the pipelines, which will aid in the making of responsive pages. Responsive pages alter their layout depending on the size and resolution of the screen they are being viewed on.
The new software from Adobe is currently available as a free download for a limited time period. Edge Animate will cost US$499 for a perpetual license or US$14.99 for single month subscriptions.
