2TB Thumbdrives Anyone?
2TB Thumbdrives Anyone?
![]()
Even though the humble thumbdrive was invented in Singapore, the Taiwanese (and Chinese) have actually popularized this incredibly cheap and convenient gadget.
Got to give it to them though, because not only do they produce some of the snazziest tech we use today (HTC, Asus etc...), they will soon be the ones who will give us 2TB thumbdrives!
According to our source, UberGizmo, the companies behind this breakthrough are Taiwanese firms, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Transcend Information (TI).
Imagine the possibilities! Affordable SSDs that you can plug out and carry around!
They might not be as fast as conventional SSDs, but with the advent of USB 3.0 technology, they might really turn out to be viable options.
