Third party companies are often roped in to provide a specialized cooling solution, particularly if these firms have staked out a reputation among enthusiasts. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved, from the graphics card vendor to the consumer. But how about liquid cooling?

Despite the increasing range of liquid cooling kits available off the shelf, there have been very few graphics cards sold with a liquid cooling kit by default. Among the few, the more prominent solutions were from Sapphire who had an interesting liquid cooled Radeon X1900 XT called the Toxic and also its Blizzard liquid metal cooling solution, which didn't seem to take off. You can now add MSI to this short list of vendors who have ventured into this method of cooling their graphics products. Predictably, the new high-end flagship from ATI is the recipient.

<img height="483" width="500" src="/files/images/Box_12.jpg" title="A modest sized box that packed a wallop inside! You would never guess that a special water-cooled edition awaits inside other than the tiny "Water Cooling" decal stuck on." alt="" />

The MSI RX1950XTX-VT2D256E comes with liquid cooling provided by Thermaltake. This is similar to an off the shelf liquid cooling kit offered by the firm so enthusiasts who already have the card can chose to purchase and install the kit themselves. However, if that sounds too daunting or troublesome, MSI has done everything for you. Besides the unique cooling system, the card itself looks like an ordinary Radeon X1950 XTX (still the fastest single GPU now).

Page 1 of 9

‹ Prev

<fieldset style="display:none;"></fieldset> Liquid Cooled Radeon X1950 XTX The MSI RX1950XTX-VT2D512E Test Setup Results - 3DMark05 Pro & 3DMark06 Pro Results - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory & F.E.A.R (DirectX 9 Benchmarks) Results - Chronicles of Riddick: EFBB & Quake 4 (OpenGL SM2.0+ Benchmarks) Temperature Testing Overclocking Conclusion

Next ›

 // window.addEvent ('domready', function () { var container = document.getElement ('#product-review'), content = container && container.getElement ('.content'), pagination = container && container.getElement ('.pagination'), form = pagination && pagination.getElement ('form'), menu = form && form.getElement ('.page-selector'), links = { prev: pagination && pagination.getElement ('.prev a'), next: pagination && pagination.getElement ('.next a') }, page = -1, desc = 'Page {curPage} of {lastPage}' ; // Tag as Javascript-enabled pagination.addClass ('js'); menu.addEvent ('change', function (e) { var curPage = this.selectedIndex + 1, lastPage = this.length, url = this.get ('value'), pageContent = container && container.getElement ('.page') ; // Disable controls menu.set ('disabled', 'disabled').blur (); if (pageContent) pageContent.setStyle ('opacity', .5); new Request.HTML ({ 'url': url, 'method': 'get', 'link': 'cancel', 'update': content, 'onSuccess': function () { // Update controls menu.erase ('disabled'); links.prev .set ('href', menu.getChildren ('option')[(curPage > 1)? curPage - 2: curPage - 1].get ('value')) [(curPage > 1)?
