<p>Despite their then non-existent support for HDCP ready outputs on their graphics products, the good folks over at ATI and NVIDIA neglected to mention a crucial detail while continuing to claim otherwise in their marketing - that while their GPUs supports HDCP, their outputs lack the decoding keys needed. Since then, NVIDIA has moved to amend this 'oversight' after <a href="http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/ati_nvidia_hdcp_support/" target="_blank">news broke about the unfortunate state of affairs</a> . ATI too has prepped variants of HDCP ready products. With the release of the GeForce 7950 GX2, HDCP compliance for graphics cards has finally materialized in retail and it seems that the vendors have now taken the baton by introducing new products that truly live up to their HDCP ready claims.</p>
<p>MSI's latest GeForce 7900 GT is one of these new breeds of graphics cards that are equipped with HDCP DVI outputs. As one of the leading manufacturers of graphics cards worldwide, MSI's move is a positive development that will hopefully lead to more vendors following suit by offering more such choices, especially since HDCP readiness is one of the much-touted components of the ideal Windows Vista experience. Of course, just adding HDCP ready DVI outputs is not newsworthy enough to earn a review (some may say that it's merely correcting a gross oversight) but fortunately for the MSI NX7900GT-VT2D256E-HD, it also comes with faster clock speeds than MSI's early models. Here then is the revised HDCP ready version:</p>
