<p>As far as input devices go, there are enough offerings from Razer, Microsoft and Logitech to bamboozle you for a long time. Undeniably, a good input device can make all the difference, be it for fast blazing games or for serious work, and Logitech, being one of the frontrunners that it is, has the new Logitech G9 Laser Mouse for you to consider. Other than Logitech's proven technology behind sensor performance and ergonomics, the new G9 Laser Mouse also offers interchangeable grip attachments.</p>

<h4 class="page_sub_title">Get a Grip</h4>
<p class="rteleft">Get a grip, literally - we kid you not. The interchangeable grip attachments that come with each Logitech G9 mouse let you enjoy different grip dynamics. The Precision grip, as its name implies, is provided to let you experience more precision with emphasis on fingertip control. With its DryGrip technology that works to let you maintain perfect mouse control even if you have sweaty palm. In our gaming tests, the Precision grip really did live up to its claim and we also found that it was especially useful in applications such as Photoshop.</p>
<p class="rteleft">However, if your focus is on comfort because of the long hours you frequently aside for gaming, then the 'Wide Load' grip is what you need. Although the common perception of mouse with a wide grip is that control and precious would be compromised, it was not the case in our test. Unless you have a really small hand, you'll find that the wide grip actually offers very good comfort for hours of gaming. Where the two grips are concerned, we must say that they are a nice addition to Logitech's G-series. With more interchangeable grips catering to different usage needs expected to be released in the future, it seems the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse will only be more versatile in time to come.</p>
<h4 class="page_sub_title">Weight Training</h4>
<p class="rteleft">Weight cartridges for balance and handling are part of the package too, but these are not in the same circular design as seen in the Logitech G5, which was the company's first mouse to feature weight inserts.</p>
<p class="rteleft">In the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse, the weight cartridges come in denominations of 7g and 4g with the four weight sockets found on the mouse supporting no more than 28 grams in total. Of course, at the end of the day, it's entirely up to you to utilize the weights to your preference.</p>
<p class="rteleft">The MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel technology crosses over from Logitech's VX series onto the G9 Laser Mouse, offering two modes of scrolling for users: Ratchet mode for precised menu selection and Hyper-Fast mode, which allows swift, frictionless zooming with just one scroll of the wheel. The former gives off a very nice and audible clicking sound that not only lets you know just how much you've scrolled but also the weapons/items you have chosen in games. Mode switching is achieved via a click of the MicroGear button that is located at the bottom of the mouse.</p>
<h4 class="page_sub_title">Beefed Up Versatility</h4>
<p class="rteleft">Predictably, with its strong gaming heritage, the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse had to be designed to satisfy gamers. While we do not think the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse has the same ergonomic quality as the MX Air Mouse, gamers will no doubt find the instantaneous dpi (sensitivity) adjustment and the five profile slots very handy. For exacting gamers, the five profile slots would allow them to save different configuration profiles for the five games that they most frequently play. These also mean portability as competitive gamers can just take their Logitech G9 Laser Mouse (and the settings in the profiles) to LAN parties and LAN centers and start fragging away &ndash; there will be no more excuses of losing games as a result of using an unfamiliar mouse.</p>
<h4 class="page_sub_title">Final Thoughts</h4>
<p class="rteleft">The Logitech G9 Laser Mouse has shown that it is a versatile mouse that's proficient at what it was designed to do. Precision, versatility and portability are all strengths of the mouse that casual users, gamers, creative professionals and the likes will get to enjoy from the mouse. Price, you ask? A cool S$169 (~US$114), but for an unbeatable gaming experience, the price is well worth it.</p>			</div>
