LG's Blu-ray Affair
LG's Blu-ray Affair
BD370 Blu-ray Player
Improving on the previous BD300's design, the BD370 which we first caught in action at the CeBIT 2009 exhibition is LG's new stand-alone BD player with some new features thrown in. Clad in black with a central silver panel, the BD370 has an interesting LED-indicator which turns blue when it detects a Blu-ray disc and red for other media formats. Incorporating a BD Live profile, the BD370 also pockets a YouTube service which allows you access to the site's videos online. If LG's claims are anything to go by, the BD370 has a rather swift boot-up time of just 18 seconds and a tray that takes a zippy 5 seconds to open.

HB954PB 5.1 Home Theater System
On the AV front, LG has fielded yet another Mark Levinson-tuned 5.1-speaker HTIB system, the HB954PB. Fashionably shaped like wine-glasses, the HB954PB's twin-standing speakers are quite a sight to behold with their subtle blue accents on black. To reduce the HTIB's footprint, LG has combined the HB954PB's Blu-ray player and receiver into a single component. Like the BD370, the HB954PB also offers YouTube connectivity, 1080p DVD upscaling and similar HD surround sound decoders. Other features include a iPod and iPhone dock as well as a USB port for your multimedia files. The HB954SP variation includes Oval Parabola speakers instead.

HT964PZ 5.1 Home Theater System
If Blu-ray titles aren't your cup of tea, then why not fall back on LG's HT964PZ? Instead of a BD drive, its receiver incorporates a DVD player with 1080p upscaling features as well. The HT964PZ also features wine glass shaped standing speakers just like its HB954PB brother, but is accentuated with red highlights instead of blue. However, don't expect to any YouTube access or iPod docks with this 5.1 DVD package.
