In conjunction with the unveiling of a new corporate identity to further strengthen its drive to be Asia's leading brand for PDA phone and Smartphone devices, Dopod seized the moment to conduct yet another world's first product launch for the 595 Windows Mobile 5.0 3G Smartphone and the hotly anticipated model following in the footstep of the Dopod 818 Pro, the 838 Pro 3G PDA Phone.</p>

<p class="rteleft">The introduction of a new identity comes after an incredible spell of success in Asian markets namely Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR, and China since 2004. Represented by five circles and three dots where the circles symbolize Dopod's emphasis on brand, technology, product, content, and service, Dopod reveals that the new corporate and product identity, together with a revised sales strategy, will propel Dopod's vision to deliver a unique mobile communication experience to consumers in the region and in time, the world.</p>

The Dopod 838 Pro</h3>
<p>Dopod is no stranger to making first strikes, more specifically 'striking' by coming up with handsets boasting world's first attributes. The latest is the 838 Pro, which like the older Dopod 818 Pro is also a world's first in that it is the first 3G PDA phone of its kind to come equipped with a sliding QWERTY keypad for faster text inputs. A 360-degree jog wheel is also fitted to allow easy one-handed operation for users to swiftly browse through web pages, check text messages and emails.</p>

<p class="rteleft">Putting the 838 Pro right at the forefront of modern communication is a host of connectivity, namely the built-in 802-11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), Quadband GSM radio with GPRS and EDGE, and Tri-band UMTS with HSDPA technology. Most noteworthy of the list is the high-speed HSDPA (High-Speed Data Packet Access), a 3.5G wireless network that supports up to 10 times the bandwidth of current 3G networks. While the data throughput speed is something to look forward to, the downside is that there are very few operators that are HSDPA-ready. The upside in getting the 838 Pro right now is the assurance of forward compatibility.</p>
