Hence, we have seen a massive influx of these cards, like the GeForce 7900 GS to the retail channels. Many of these GeForce 7900 GS cards are overclocked and even non-standard features like HDCP support has been added. Prices have also become more reasonable and this has probably started something of a buying spree among enthusiasts.

We have already seen quite a few of these excellent enthusiast-edition GeForce 7900 GS cards in our labs and they all have produced solid performance figures in our benchmarks. ASUS, one of the largest vendors in the industry had not yet made their mark in that sector, but that is all set to change with the latest TOP edition of ASUS' GeForce 7900 GS. In case you're unaware, the TOP edition is ASUS' special, overclocked version and from our past experiences, they can be quite the speed demon. So would the ASUS EN7900GS TOP live up to its billing?

For starters, how about a daring core clock of 590MHz and an equally aggressive memory frequency of 1440MHz DDR? Those were the surprisingly high clock speeds we discovered on installing the drivers. Before you start hyperventilating about the 3DMark scores, here's a glimpse of the new ASUS box packaging (featuring Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter):

Page 1 of 9

‹ Prev

<fieldset style="display:none;"></fieldset> Topping it Off The ASUS EN7900GS TOP Test Setup Results - 3DMark05 Pro & 3DMark06 Results - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory & F.E.A.R (DirectX 9 Benchmarks) Results - Chronicles of Riddick & Quake 4 (OpenGL SM2.0+ Benchmarks) Temperature Testing Overclocking Conclusion

Next ›

 // window.addEvent ('domready', function () { var container = document.getElement ('#product-review'), content = container && container.getElement ('.content'), pagination = container && container.getElement ('.pagination'), form = pagination && pagination.getElement ('form'), menu = form && form.getElement ('.page-selector'), links = { prev: pagination && pagination.getElement ('.prev a'), next: pagination && pagination.getElement ('.next a') }, page = -1, desc = 'Page {curPage} of {lastPage}' ; // Tag as Javascript-enabled pagination.addClass ('js'); menu.addEvent ('change', function (e) { var curPage = this.selectedIndex + 1, lastPage = this.length, url = this.get ('value'), pageContent = container && container.getElement ('.page') ; // Disable controls menu.set ('disabled', 'disabled').blur (); if (pageContent) pageContent.setStyle ('opacity', .5); new Request.HTML ({ 'url': url, 'method': 'get', 'link': 'cancel', 'update': content, 'onSuccess': function () { // Update controls menu.erase ('disabled'); links.prev .set ('href', menu.getChildren ('option')[(curPage > 1)? curPage - 2: curPage - 1].get ('value')) [(curPage > 1)?
