As you might be well aware of by now, there's an ongoing drama on the Web about the fate of Yahoo. It all started last month when Microsoft offered to buy Yahoo for USD44.6billion, but Yahoo turned down the offer, saying it wasn't good enough.
Next, Google came into the picture, and it didn't take long to realise what was happening - the Web is dominated by Google which Microsoft wants to take over but can't seem to. Yahoo, being the third in rank, is a nobody compared to the two titans, but whichever giant takes Yahoo, will have a high chance of dominating the Web.
With Yahoo torn between Microsoft and Google, the drama waged on when Yahoo ran off to News Corporation. News Corp, which owns MySpace and 20th Century Fox Studios, amongst others, would rock both the Web, and real world as well, if they go with Yahoo.
It doesn't end there yet. Now there are comments that Microsoft should go after SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) instead, the rival of Oracle. If that's not drama enough, now Yahoo is being sued by its shareholders for turning down Microsoft in the first place.
Will Microsoft get Yahoo? Will Google get Yahoo? Will News Corp get Yahoo? Or will Microsoft be happy with SAP? Stay tuned and we'll see what happes when the giants battle it out for the top spot on the Web. Keep your popcorn close to you.
