64-bit Photoshop

Photoshop users cheer up! Adobe has announced that the next version of Photoshop, CS4 (version 11), will be available in 64-bit (x64), to cater to users who are running x64 Vista, which can use the full 4GB of memory (if you have that much installed).

Currently 32-bit (x86) Vista can only make use of around 3.5GB of memory, even if you have 4GB. With x64 Vista, you can install more than 4GB of memory, and access it all. However, unless you have x64 software as well, you'll be running x86 software on x64 Vista.

With Adobe's upcoming x64 Photoshop CS4, graphic users can now fully enjoy their 4GB or more memory for their image manipulation needs, which can get really heavy when it comes to Photoshop.
