3D Virtual Desktops
HardWareZone | 21 July, 2008 10:50
Virtual Desktops have been around before, way earlier before graphic cards began offering secondary desktops (only with a secondary monitor attached). They offered more desktops than graphic cards could offer since its virtual. However, they remained 2D until more powerful graphics hardware come out.
3D Virtual Desktops began with Linux XGL, and later, with Apple's latest Macintosh operating system, popularly known as Spaces. However, even the sixth version of Windows, Vista, lacks this feature. At most, Vista only offers 3D multi-tasking. What if you want a Windows version of Linux XGL and Apple's Spaces? Well, now there's a solution called DeskSpace! There's a free trial which you can use for two weeks.
