My turn!

FatCatLim | 21 July, 2008 10:50

zerotau posted a picture of his workplace the other day, so I thought I'd do the same myself. :D It's not as messy but what's not pictured are the 10 or so product boxes aptly "boxing" me in my cubicle. I'll spare you the utter cluttersome of my workplace surroundings and just quickly describe what's on my desk.

So, what's your poison?

hoobs | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Need.to.buy.new.phone!

Mobile phones are evil, I tell you. New models are coming out so fast that that not a month goes by without me contemplating to change my trusty 'ol RAZR to one of these new fangled beauties on the market today. The urge is just too hard to resist.

I have my eyes set on several models (some available now, and some coming soon), but I'm not planning to give in anytime soon. I hope I don't, at least not until my RAZR dies.

So, here are some of my poison. What's yours?

Back with a vengence

FatCatLim | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Nope, we ain't dead. We've been busy rushing the articles during the Deeparaya break, and then we had the double whammy of moving to our new office, which really ate into our blogging time.

The good news is that now that we finally got our connection all set up and we've already moved and arranged most of our stuff in the new office, we should be back to blogging on a regular schedule. Plus our new office looks really swell. : ) Look forward to more local IT and gaming updates from The Zone soon!

Girls Girls Girls!

zerotau | 21 July, 2008 10:50

The last PC Fair of the year has come and gone, and surprisingly, there weren't many exciting things there, except for the appearance of Crucial RAMs and a couple of super great deals (who doesn't want a HP monochrome laserjet for 199 plus toner plus warranty??)

The HWM/GameAxis booth was also giving out great deals, with a year's subscription to HWM netting loyal subscribers a Lexmark printer, TV Tuner card, and a whole lot freebies. Gamers recieved a Bagman bag worth RM120 for a year's subscription to GameAxis!  Look what our readers have to say:

Anyways, enjoy the booth babes! (we spotted Cheryl working for Toshiba this time) more pics after the jump!

The Hard and Dirty truth about hard disk drives

FatCatLim | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Why do you buy bigger hard disk drives for? Is it to meet your growing demands for storing precious digital pictures of your loved ones? Or to keep up with new applications that take up large disk space on your drives? Or...- oh hell, let's just admit it: we need bigger hard disk drives to keep our anime, TV dramas, and dirty movies. At least that's what Bill Watkins, CEO of Seagate Technology admits on a CNN interview:

"Let's face it, we're not changing the world. We're building a product that helps people buy more crap - and watch porn."

It's a brutally honest and candid opinion, so we'll give him for that. After all, what do you do with 500GB of hard drive space? Fill it up with hundreds of pictures of your pet bunny Fluffy? Now if you'll excuse me, I need to catch up on my weekly download of Wild n' Wet Weekend Getaways *cough*...

We, for one, welcome our Gundam Lantern overlords

FatCatLim | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Engadget Chinese has captured a couple pictures of the Lantern Festival in Taiwan, where the Taiwanese district of Jiayi put up a massive 1:2.5 scale model of a Gundam in lantern form. Awesome! Since Malaysia likes making breaking records, maybe we should make a giant Zeon Lantern or something to counter it. ;)

Vote for the best PC Fair (I) 2007 chicks!

zerotau | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Heya people! What a wonderful, gloomy and hot morning it is and while most of the exhibitors from last weekend's PC Fair is either dozing off or repacking their booths for the next one to come, I am proud to present to you a collection of deliciously cute and beautiful women that was spotted over the weekend. Let's face it, no R600, no cutting edge stuff, what are we supposed to photograph then? Tongue out

Not only do you get to oogle and drool over these pics, but you can also vote for your fav darling via the comments box and we'll give you something in return! Laughing

As part of our efforts to revamp the current Hardware Zone Malaysia forums, we'll be doing some major spring cleaning. hoobs | 21 July, 2008 10:50

This is another one of those non-tech posts but this one is a good one, I promise. Just watch the video and guess how did he change the color of the cards. :P

Best.Video.Evar! (We swear!)

hoobs | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Okay, this is another non-tech post but if this is not the funniest video you've ever watched, we will close this blog down tomorrow. Its Michael Jackson's Thriller done in Telegu, but with "English" subtitles/lyrics. Enjoi. We did.

PS: It's quite an old video but we just remembered it. Credit goes to our counterparts at www.gameaxis.com for discovering it first.

The prison you want (or maybe not) to end up in

hoobs | 21 July, 2008 10:50

Again, this may be old news but we couldn't resist. It's two different videos of the same prisoners in the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines doing Michael Jackson's Thriller dance and that dance from the popular anime, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Incredible. We never knew prison was so much fun.

Words not needed really. Just watch.

Do you know what this is?

hoobs | 21 July, 2008 10:50

A special prize to the first person to answer correctly. The answer after the jump.
