Does this animal look cute to you? With its beady eyes and slightly snickering smile, it looks a bit scary to me, in fact. Truth is, it (or rather, he) is the new Toshiba mascot for their IT product line, and yes, he's a seal. Like what you have been reading on other technorati blogs, Toshiba has finally launched the new Pala-chan MP3 player in Malaysia, along with their latest notebook range and branding strategy. These are a few of the notebooks that were launched; including the Qosmio G30 with built-in HD-DVD drive....

....of which, I got a screenshot of. This is the playback of Corpse Bride in HD, even a regular joe can see the dfference as compared to the DVD version in the detail of the skin and hair (even with this crappy, compressed image with flash bounce effects =P)

Demonstrating the robust-ness of the new notebooks by splashing water on one of them certainly got the crowd cheering!

A lovely girl named Moon was there to show the models off....

...and this is her posing with a real-life version (which looks even scarier) of Pala-chan. What makes him scary is that they used the intro song from Schnappi as his theme song...
