Hello guys, missed me? If you were wondering why I didn't blogged any entries for the week, it was because I was down in Korea for the HP regional PSG consumer launch. Lots of nifty stuff was on showcase, including their new HP TouchSmart PC and "Touch & Twist" TX-1000 notebook. I'll cover more on the event in the March issue of HWM Malaysia. Mucho thanks to my colleague kev for covering my share! I'll treat ya to yum cha one day. :D
What you see above is the free original DVD copies of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and 64-bit edition that was given out to all the members of the media who attended the Microsoft Corporate Vista launch this morning at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Don't you just love the holographic imagery captured by our studio lights? Too bad this Vista is for office-use only. I wish they had given away free copies of Office 2007 though...I could really use it, heheheh...
Look forward to our March issue for more pictures and coverage of the Malaysian Vista launch! For now, here's some pictures of what went down this morning down at the KLCC.

Despite starting at 8:30 a.m., there were throngs of people there when I arrived. Of course I arrived like about 9:20 a.m. due to the jam. Luckily the event didn't start until 9:40, which gave me enough time to scarf down a muffin and a cup of tea at the breakfast table.
Yasmin Mahmood, Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia, delivered the welcome keynote address.
Emilio Umeoka, Regional Vice President of Microsoft Asia Pacific was next to deliver the keynote address.
Both Yasmin Mahmood and Emilio Umeoka launches the Microsoft Business Value package. Actually this little ceremony was over so quick that most of the photographers there including me barely had time to properly set up the shot. They just pressed the button on the launch box and immediately went off stage.

Tyson Dowd, Senior Director of the Malaysian Sofware Economy of Microsoft Malaysia held a mock breakfast-style interview with Victor Ooi and Han K Hoh over the power of Microsoft Vista, Office 2007 system, and Exchange Server 2007 to better manage, visualize, analyze, organize, and present data for quick decision making.
After the keynote addresses, members of the media were ushered to another room to witness the signing of the memoram of understanding with Microsoft Malaysia, AirAsia, and The Media Shoppe Berhad. The Media Shoppe Berhad helped developed a Vista sidebar gadget that tracked and filtered the latest flight packages offered by Air Asia.
O2 was there to show how well their handhelds integrated with Microsoft Windows Mobile. They had some cute models there. ;)

More keynotes sessions were going on when the media was ushered to the AirAsia/Microsoft Malaysia/The Media Shoppe MOU.
In a separate hall, business hardware vendor partners set up booths showcasing their offerings for interested enterprises and businesses.

AMD held a booth there too despite the strong Intel presence.
